Guion, AR— Silica Transport and the entire trucking industry began a weeklong celebration of the millions of professional truck drivers who deliver freight safely and securely every day.
“Professional truck drivers literally deliver for our families every day,” said James Knight, President. “We’re happy to take this week to recognize their hard work during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.”
Celebrated annually, this year’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs from September 11 through September 17.
There are more than 3.4 million professional truck drivers nationwide, including the 50 hard-working Silica Transport drivers, delivering all of life’s essential goods – from food to fuel, medicine to clothing. These hard-working professionals drove more than 421 billion miles last year, delivering nearly 10 billion tons of freight – accounting for roughly 70% of all freight moved in the United States. Eighty percent of U.S. communities depend solely on trucking to deliver goods.
This year, Silica Transport asks you to join them in recognizing the significant contributions our professional truck drivers make to our lives. Their efforts contribute greatly to our quality of life.
